HOLDEN BARINA review in detail:

The Barina is made in Korea by GM-Daewoo and is obviously built down to a price. It is the smallest Holden.

However, it comes with a decent range of standard equipment, including air conditioning (which isn't standard in a Commodore!), an MP3/CD stereo, remote central locking, as
well as power windows and door mirrors.

Handling is on the soft side and there's not much feedback through the steering wheel, but ride comfort is generally good. Road grip is fine and the Barina should be safe enough if not pushed to its limits (which aren't particularly high).

The Barina sedan is significantly longer and wider and slightly taller than the five-door
hatchback. This gives it good interior space for four adults if they are willing to compromise slightly on legroom.

There are lap-sash safety belts for five occupants.

The boot is huge and has a good opening that allows you to load plenty of luggage.

Power comes from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that works well enough without being really outstanding in any areas. It is willing to rev but feels slightly strained.

The Barina scored only two stars out of five in NCAP crash testing - no other car on the market scores so poorly.
