MERCEDES-BENZ CLK200 KOMPRESSOR review in detail:

With sleek curves and lines that really are at the pinnacle of the modern Mercedes design theme, the styling of the latest Mercedes CLK luxury sports is simply sensational.

The CLK is offered as both a coupe and an open-top cabriolet. The latter is, in reality, a full convertible as it is completely open to the air. The cabriolet's roof is fully automatic, involving just a single push on either the button between the front seats, or on the remote-control electronic key.

The individual rear seats are marginal in space for adults, but there's plenty of space in the two front seats. Boot volume can be significantly expanded when the roof is up by way of an adjustable cover, so is pretty good in the convertible.

Even though there is a good variety of models, there's no need to spend top dollar because the best engine is arguably the mid-range 3.5-litre. It's clean and economical, yet powerful, and because it's teamed with a seven-speed automatic transmission the engine is almost invariably in the right gear so there's plenty of performance from what is, technically, not a large engine.
