PEUGEOT 207 review in detail:

Peugeot's new 207 was appropriately launched in 2007, and takes the French marque's famed long-nose styling theme one step further than ever before.

The overall effect is great and there are many who will buy the Peugeot 207 on its shape alone.

The 207 is substantially larger than the 206 it replaces and the cabin can handle four adults without any major compromising.

Peugeot designers have again shown that they can build interiors that appear to be more spacious than they really are.

It goes without saying that style is a major feature of the new car's interior.

The powerplant range is one of the largest on the Australian market.

There are 1.4-litre petrol units in two different formats, one a full-on economy unit and a 1.6-litre petrol engine that's sold with or without a turbocharger.

Peak torque of 240Nm on the turbo engine begins at an amazingly low 1400 rpm, then continues all the way to 3500 rpm. Then there's the 207 HDi with a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine.

A touring wagon will arrive later in the year but at present the 207 is currently sold as a three or five door hatchback.
