PEUGEOT 307 review in detail:

Although the 307 has been on the market in Australia since 2001 it still looks up to date, which proves that good styling can be timeless.

It must be admitted that in 2006 the Peugeot 307 did get a substantial facelift to bring it into line with the latest long-nosed theme from the French marque, but the original lines certainly proved to have been correct.

Inside, the Peugeot 307 is a good size, with an interior that has an airy feeling that makes it feel even bigger than it really is.

The front seats are well-shaped, large and comfortable.

However, the rear-seat headroom in the hatchbacks should be better given the height of this car.

Wagons have no problems in this respect.

Handling is good, with a feel through the steering that will please those who enjoy their driving.

Even on unsealed Australian roads the ride comfort is good, a feature that has made Peugeots strong sellers in this country for many decades.

A turbo-diesel engine has been available in the Peugeot 307 since its introduction, long before others got onto the diesel bandwagon, and these days, two turbo-diesel engines are on offer.

Initially these came only with manual transmissions but to further boost the practicality of these fuel-efficient engines, high-tech six-speed automatics are now on offer in selected 307 models.
