SUBARU LIBERTY review in detail:

In a major facelift, every visible part forward of the windscreen was changed for the 2007 Subaru Liberty and Outback.

Changes to the interior also brought these Subaru models up to date as part of the mid-life makeover.

On a practical note, all models now have a four-way adjustable steering column to make it simpler to get comfortable in the driver's seat.

Most important of all, topline models feature 'intelligent' new engines.

These can operate in three distinctly different modes, offering the car owner a choice of fuel economy, performance, or compromise between the two.

The suspension copes well on smooth to normal roads, but some Aussie backroads can knock it about as there's a leaning to sportiness in the chassis compromise with which all car designers are forever struggling.
