Questions about Road Side Assistance
What are your response times? Generally, service is provided within 30 minutes to calls from metropolitan areas and major regional centres. Customers will be advised of any delays due to distance or prevailing conditions. All major contractors communicate via radio or mobile phone, ensuring our ability to monitor progress of individual callouts, and log successful completion of each job.
Are there limits on the vehicle types that can be covered? We cannot accept taxis, trucks or other vehicles for hire (including limousine services). All passenger vehicles, including four-wheel drives are acceptable. If you are unsure whether your car is covered, please . There are no limits on the age or value or make or model of the car.
Are there any limits on the driver that can be covered? There are no limits on the driver.
If I purchase roadside assistance for more than one car, should all memberships be in the same name? Not neccesarily. Each membership can be in a different name, with a different address, for a different car.
Is the membership transferable to a new car? Yes. Please email support@carbroker.com.au for assistance.
Who actually performs the roadside assistance services? Australia Wide Assist uses a fleet of over 1200 vehicles. In all cases , they are qualified mechanics.
Will I be covered if my car is broken down at the time I buy the Roadside Assistance? No. Your car must be able to be driven at the time you join.
Does it matter who is driving the car at the time of the breakdown? No. The roadside assistance membership is attached to the car. The person named in the membership does not even have to be in the car, as long as the driver knows the relevant phone number and membership number.
When do I get my details? You will instantly receive an email with the details. Additionally, we can (instantly, automatically, optionally, and for no extra cost) SMS the breakdown phone number, membership number, expiry date etc. so that it will reside in your mobile phone for your convenience. We recommend you print the email and keep it in the service book or with the registration in your car.
Can I join by phone? No. This is part of how we keep costs low.
Can I pay by other methods? Yes. You can mail us a cheque or money order in the correct amount. Our contact details can be found here . Please include your name and email address, and what coverage you want. We will then email your membership information to you. Your membership will begin once the cheque has been deposited.

Terms and conditions
General Cover
Once a call is received, either from your home or on the road, a mobile service is immediately despatched to the scene to rectify, on the spot, the following difficulties;
FLAT BATTERY- Jump-start vehicle.
FLAT TYRE- Replace flat with spare. OUT OF FUEL- Supply minimum of 5 litres (unleaded) fuel to be paid for by driver.
LOCK OUTS- Access car/Replace key (up to $45.00 per case). (Specialist locksmith attendance may involve extra charge to driver).
TOWING - BREAKDOWN- If your Vehicle is unable to be quickly mechanically repaired or safely driven, the Vehicle, including the driver, will be transported to a nominated service centre or mechanical repair facility. If after hours, arrangements can be made to store the Vehicle and transport when the service centre or repair facility is open. A 20 km metropolitan or 50 km rural Free of charge service for roadside response and breakdown towing applies. Excess kilometres charged at the recommended industry rates.
Extra Cover (Included in all memberships at no extra cost)
CAR HIRE- In the event of a major mechanical failure, whilst travelling away from home that sidelines your Vehicle for longer than 48 hours, excluding weekends and public holidays, Australia Wide Assist shall assist with rental arrangements and costs. On Submission of the Account (excluding petrol, klms and insurance) together with a copy of the repair bill, Australia Wide Assist will cover up to $200.00 per claim.
ACCOMMODATION- In the event of a major vehicle breakdown more than 100klms from your registered residence, Australia Wide Assist will assist with emergency accommodation arrangements and cost. On submission of the account together with a copy of the repair and accommodation bill, Australia Wide Assist will cover up to $200.00 per claim.
AMBULANCE COVER- In the event of an accident where the registered vehicle is involved, and the driver or immediate family of the driver (i.e. Wife/Husband,Sons/Daughters) require the services of an ambulance as a result of that accident, Australia Wide Assist will assist with the ambulance costs. On submission of the accident report together with a copy of the ambulance bill, Australia Wide Assist will cover up to $200.00 per claim.
(N.B. Liability on extra cover not to exceed $400.00 per registration period).
MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER- You may transfer the membership to another car if you sell your car, or it is otherwise disposed of. It is not possible to transfer the membership back to the original car once a transfer has been made.
