BMW M6 review in detail:
BMW introduced the hot M6 variant in convertible format in early 2007 to join the M6 closed coupe that was launched in 2006. This car will out-accelerate a Porsche 911 Carrera S to 100Km/hr; it's more agile than a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti at far less than half the price; and its unique seven-speed sequential manual gearbox snaps off shifts in Sport mode faster than you can blink - or even think about it.It's not cheap, but with V10 power the M6 is a real road rocket that will appeal to true drivers.
BMW has opted for a powered soft-top in these convertibles, due to the fact that a folding hardtop robs the boot of too much space. There's a certain 1930s racer look about this big car with the small top which is really appealing.
Although the 6 Series is a big car it's still only a two-plus-two, with a relatively small back seat. However, for small to medium-sized people it's well shaped and reasonably comfortable. Naturally, legroom in the rear suffers severely if the seats are set a long way back.
There's luxury in all details inside these big cruisers. The cabin is sporty and features a beautiful combination of leather, wood and aluminium that really makes a statement from a styling point of view.
The company appears to have responded to criticism of its earlier flame-surface cars, as the 6 Series is less visually challenging than other recent models from BMW.
