LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO review in detail:

Some drivers may find a Lamborghini a bit much to handle if all they want is a stunning looking cruiser to draw attention to themselves.

But for those who enjoy driving a car that's focused on pure performance, one of these Italian automotive masterpieces may be just the thing.

It's been a busy period for Lamborghini with two introductions to Australia, even if they are new versions of existing models, not all-new machines.

The mighty Murcielago LP640 supercar is something else again (the 640 being the horsepower generated by its huge 6.5 litre V12 engine).

That sort of power can see this big Italian raging bull burn from a standstill to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and get to a sensational 300km/h in less than 30 seconds.

The reasonably affordable Lamborghini Gallardo is a stunning, relatively compact supercar.

It comes with over-the-top styling that's very typical of this Italian marque.

Gallardo was offered in Spyder convertible format for the 2007 season in Australia.

Gallardo has razor-sharp styling backed up by a V10 engine producing close to 500 horsepower, and driving all four wheels.

Yet it is relatively easy to drive.
