MAZDA 2 review in detail:

The 2 is the smallest car in the Mazda range and can seat four adults in a reasonable amount of comfort with decent legroom for all, and more headroom than you will find in many sedans.

Mazda2 is compatible with late-model iPods by way of a special connector.

Boot volume is relatively low, but the space is tall and can take large suitcases standing up.

The length of the boot can be substantially increased by sliding the rear seat forward. This naturally reduces the legroom for those in the back seat but compromises can be reached as there are five different positions at which the seat can be set.

Mazda2

All occupants get the safety of three-point safety belts.

If the Mazda 2 is on decent roads ride comfort is generally good, but rough surfaces such as Australian back roads, can knock it about at times. As is often the case with tall cars, crosswinds can buffet the car. Some may find the steering a little on the soft side in the straight-ahead position, though it is well weighted.

Handling is safe and predictable, with a near-neutral feeling in normal driving.

The engine isn't the strongest around but good use of the gearbox can keep the little Mazda humming along happily enough.

The Mazda 2 is expected to be replaced by a new model in October 2007.
