SUBARU IMPREZA review in detail:

Impreza continues to sell strongly, thanks to a combination of solid design, high build quality and excellent resale value.

It took a while for some to come to grips with the new three-hole front-end shape on the Impreza, and the new styling theme now appears to have gained recognition.

Ride comfort is good, even on the worst of Australian bush roads, and it's no surprise that country owners fell in love with Subaru products virtually from the day they were launched over 30 years ago.

Impreza also has a solid feeling that's almost German in the way it offers security and the impression the car will last for a long time.

Impreza's handling is safe and predictable in all conditions.

All-wheel drive (AWD) has been a feature of all Subarus sold in Australia for many years now and knowledgeable buyers are attracted to it, knowing of the traction advantages it provides, especially in slippery conditions.

The new-design 2.0-litre twin-cam engine uses fly-by-wire throttle control and has nicely linear power delivery.

Flexibility, always a Subaru strong point, has been further improved by this new flat-four and it's an honest, hard-working powerplant.

An all-new Impreza hatch is due to appear from Subaru in Australia by October 2007.
