TOYOTA CAMRY review in detail:

The 2007 Toyota Camry is the sixth generation of Camry cars. Over 10 million Camrys have been sold worldwide since the first model rolled off the line in 1983. The Toyota Camry has gone back to its roots, now being sold in Australia only as a four-cylinder car, with a V6 no longer on offer (but see the entry on Toyota Aurion).

Camry has always been a conservatively-styled car, and that's not changing for 2007. The new design is fresher and younger than the previous generation, with a higher waistline and smaller windows.

Camry uses a 2.4-litre engine as in the previous model, but it has been enhanced to improve both power and torque. The engine is almost silent under light to moderate acceleration and even when you get hard onto the throttle it's still quiet.

The all-new chassis has led to a reduction in noise, vibration and harshness levels as Toyota continues to flow down engineering from its Lexus division to the benefit of lower-cost cars.

Interior room is good and the Camry, though not as wide as the Commodore and Falcon, has a rear seat that's so well designed that it can almost carry three adults in comfort. The bottom of the windshield has been kicked forward a bit, and the dash sits further away from the driver and passenger, giving more of a sense of space.

The Camry Sportivo offers the keen driver a firmer suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and a body kit, but has the same engine as the rest of the range, so the 'Sport' in 'Sportivo' is a bit of a misnomer.
